I made this for Mikes 38th Birthday.[link]
Since I didn't get to last year I made the cake extra special this year. I tried to keep the scaling pretty close -it's about 23" long- The hardest part was making all the hardware with fondant, like the frets kept cracking and getting the silver coloring to look good was challenging. All good fun though.

Yeah, I was actually really mad about that,getting the scale right is difficult. I had to make the neck shorter and stubbier than it really would be because I could not carve the cake that long thin- it would just crumble

- The frets are also way too bulky. I think next time I try this I'll use rice-treats for the neck so it's to scale and still stable.
